Their divorce has been a roller coaster of emotional and legal ups and downs. But on Monday night, Angelina and Brad, once known as the It Couple Brangelina, released their first joint statement since filing for divorce.
In the statement, both actors say they’ve agreed to keep the details of their divorce private and will be using a private judge from here on out.
“The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues.”
“The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.” As expected, the two are doing it all for the sake of their six children.
It must be especially difficult for Brad Pitt. It’s been reported that several of his children are feeling less than warm towards their father.
Maddox, 15, was the subject of a federal investigation of child abuse. The incident in question was aboard the family’s private plane, where Maddox and Brad apparently had an argument. But Brad was eventually cleared in the investigation.
Still, 10-year-old Shiloh appears to be on Mom’s side as well. On the day of Brad Pitt’s 53rd birthday, Shiloh was out shopping with Angelina. Instead, Brad spent his birthday with some old friends.
Currently, Angelina retains physical custody of the kids, with Brad allowed supervised visits. He is reportedly pushing for joint custody.
Both actors have remained quite private since their divorce began, although Brad has made a few surprising appearances in the spotlight, most recently at the 2017 Golden Globes over the weekend.
