We could hardly believe it when news broke that Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. Although they were only married for two years, they’d been together for some 10 years before that, though no one really knows for sure when they began their relationship.
However, it’s been just over two months since Jolie filed for divorce, and the contentious battle over their six kids is only going to get worse over the holidays.
Brad Pitt was even investigated by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and the FBI for an alleged incident aboard a plane involving 15-year-old Maddox, the oldest of their kids.
The allegations stated that Pitt was “verbally abusive” and even got “physical” with Maddox on the private plane on September 14. Jolie filed for divorce five days later.
But both organizations cleared Pitt, and he still continued to push for joint custody of the children!
Since then, the 51-year-old actor has had supervised visits with his kids, but multiple outlets report that the family just hasn’t been the same.
Us Weekly said, “He’s crushed. Brad has been deferential on what’s best for them and limits their stress.” But despite his efforts, the kids apparently didn’t “warm up to him” during the monitored visits.
And now with Thanksgiving right around the corner, it seems that the kids prefer to spend the holiday with Mom! Us Weekly confirms, “Angelina did not invite Brad to spend Thanksgiving with their kids.”
This confirmation directly contradicts the report from Hollywood Life that says 10-year-old Shiloh brought the family together for the holiday with an emotional email. “Shiloh has been begging Brad and Angelina for weeks to start being nice to each other,” their source says.
“Then she sent them both an emotional email asking for the family to spend Thanksgiving together. She let them know that it was what the kids were hoping for.” According to Hollywood Life, it was enough to make the parents bury the hatchet and agree to the dinner, with Brad bringing the turkey just like before.
With the rest of the holidays approaching soon after Thanksgiving, we can’t help but wonder how many more emotional emails young Shiloh will need to send…
