Justin Bieber posted an emotional video late last night, apologizing for his behavior over the last few years and declaring that he's going to change.
"I just wanted to make a video because I wanted to express how I feel right now," he said, adding that he was nervous when he appeared on Ellen earlier in the day. "I was really nervous, and I think I was nervous because I was afraid of what people are thinking about me right now."
He paused and continued, "It's been a minute since I've been in a public appearance and I didn't want to come off arrogant or conceited, basically how I've been acting the past year, year and a half."
"I'm not who I was pretending to be," Bieber states, likely referencing the last few years of tantrums, house eggings, fights, DUIs, and general stupidity. "We pretend to be something we're not as a cover-up of what we're truly feeling inside. There was a lot of feelings going on in there. Just being young and growing up in this business is hard. Growing up in general is hard," he explains.
He goes on to say that he just wants to show that he is a caring, sensitive person and that he wants to be the good man his mother raised him to be. "I just want to make the best impression on people, and be kind and loving and gentle and soft."
There have been mixed reactions to his video, to say the least. Some feel that his apology is genuine and, with the Comedy Central Roast fast approaching, that he's trying to turn over a new leaf. Others, however, think he will never change.
