They might be trying to recapture their claim to fame, but if Honey Boo Boo and her family keep this up, they could be looking at some serious legal woes from TLC.
TMZ reports that, "TLC sent the family an ultimatum ... they can't work for another entertainment company until their contract with the network runs its course at the end of May."
Allegedly, Honey Boo Boo has been working on a new song when they "were in town last week shopping a reboot of their show to other networks." Mama June, Honey, and the rest of the family recorded a song with HBB called, "Movin' Up."
Sources say that TLC is threatening to sue the family if they make any money before their contract is up in June since they "paid the entire family their money for the season that never aired, plus tutoring and health insurance."
Mama June and her family certainly aren't scared, though.
The Honey Boo Boo clan is reportedly laughing it off because they believe "their contract was breached by the network," so they "have no obligation to fulfill their old deal."
Allegedly, the family claims that "their health insurance hasn't been paid since November -- which was part of their contract -- so they no longer believe they should answer to TLC."
TMZ reports that the "deal only required TLC to pay through 2014 -- which it says was covered in full. For extra generosity, the network claims it agreed to pay for the family's insurance this year too, up until May -- and we're told THAT is June's beef."
Reportedly, TLC will make the payment eventually.
